31 Day Nail Challenge!

So there's a challenge that's been going around in the blogosphere called the 31 Day Nail Challenge, which challenges you to post a new manicure every day. Here's what I'll be undergoing for the next month:

I was a little hesitant at first, since I'm a high school junior with a very busy life, but I'm sure that I'll be able to find a way to accomplish this.

Blood. Sometimes it sets my teeth on edge, other times it helps me control the chaos.

After reading the book Darkly Dreaming Dexter and listening to my boyfriend rave about the show, I just HAD to do a Dexter-inspired manicure. It came out like this:

(Excuse the crappy photo quality. It's a lot redder in real life.) Pretty gory, eh? I know that Halloween is ten months away, but I just had to do this.

Polishes used:
Sally Hansen Black Out
Wet N Wild French White

I'm still alive (and in DC!)

Sorry I haven't posted in a very long time. My life has been crazy with midterms, a play, mountains of homework, boyfriend, friends, etc. I could ramble on and on, but for the sake of time (and I have an essay to revise), I'll keep it short.

I'm now in the nation's capital, a.k.a. Washington, D.C. I just went out to the Folger Shakespeare Library, which was pure bliss for my inner Shakespeare nerd. Here's what it looks like:

It was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be. The guy at the front desk took us (myself and my parents) around and explained the origins of the Library. It turns out that it has 82 copies of the First Folio, and there are only 240 copies left in the world. Pretty crazy. After looking around, I went to the gift shop and got this:

Fear the literary power of my navy blue quill pen! *insert evil laughter here* It has an actual ballpoint pen inside, so you already have ink. (Even though it's kinda coming off as black in the picture. Boo!) And I got a bookmark with the opening words of Lady Macbeth's famous "Out, damn spot!" monologue for my best friend, who is a fellow Shakespeare nerd.

On the way back, I walked by this:

The weather wasn't as pretty as it is in the picture (it was very dreary today), but you get the idea. I only had my phone as a camera, so I can't upload it here. Even though I'm not very fond of many of the people who work in the Capitol, you gotta admit that the building itself is very pretty.

I'll try to get my act together and post more often. I'm on break now, so I have plenty of time to screw around with nail polish. :)
